3.1 Determining the upstream impedance value

In the following example, taken from a real case, we will evaluate the influence of each network element in the calculation of voltage surge amplitude.

We consider a load supplied at low voltage (LV) by 180 m of LV cable, downstream of a 400 kVA MV/LV transformer, itself supplied by an MV line coming from the medium-voltage (MV) busbar of a source substation.
