6. Standards and recommendations

The aim of standardization in the field of electromagnetic compatibility, of which flicker is a part, is to ensure that all electrical and electronic equipment functions correctly. To achieve this, they must not provide a degraded service when normal levels of disturbance are observed. In other words, when the level of disturbance is below the compatibility level, they must operate correctly. This implies that their immunity level must be higher than the compatibility level. In the case of flicker, the sensitive equipment is lighting. However, there is no standard for the immunity of lighting devices to voltage fluctuations. Immunity is guaranteed by flicker measurement, i.e. the definition of "Pst = 1" 2.2...
