1. Context
Forward and flyback converters are commonly used, as their transformers ensure both galvanic isolation and a significant voltage difference between input and output, since it depends on the value of the transformation ratio. Their control circuit is relatively simple, compared with other types of isolated power supplies, since these converters use only a controlled switch referenced to a low potential (figure 1 ).
Forward converters are reserved for power levels above a few tens of watts, as the transformer volume, proportional to power, is smaller than that of a flyback converter. However, it is preferable to use flyback converters for low-power applications, because of the reduced number of components...
