3.1 Workability
3.1.1 Admixtures modifying concrete workability
These admixtures modify the rheological behavior of concrete, mortar and grout in the fresh state, before setting begins. They lower the paste's shear threshold and modify its viscosity. They increase workability while reducing the amount of mixing water required, thus facilitating concrete placement. They increase the compactness of the mix, resulting in improved strength.
