
1. Accidents at work
1.1 Different types of accident
An accident at work is defined by Articles L. 411-1 and L.411-2 of the French Social Security Code. It is an event affecting an employee or a person on company premises for professional reasons. It must meet the following criteria:
as an "accidental fact";
arising out of or in connection with working hours;
it must be precisely dated;
it must cause physical or mental injury.
