4. Special provisions for archive buildings (article GHS)
In accordance with Article R. 122-3 of the French Construction and Housing Code, most buildings of this type are not subject to the safety regulations governing high-rise buildings.
Where necessary, measures are taken to protect and clear staircases of smoke, as well as to detect smoke.
Additional provisions may be requested by the Safety Commission.
The provisions of this chapter do not apply to high-rise buildings whose purpose normally requires the presence of less than one person per 100 m 2 of floor area on each level.
