
7. Special provisions applicable to residential buildings with a height of more than 28 m and less than or equal to 50 m comprising premises other than those for residential use (articles GHZ)
The installation in a residential building, where the bottom floor of the last level is more than 28 m and no more than 50 m away, of premises used for one or more of the activities authorized by article R. 122-5 of the French Construction and Housing Code, results in the building being classified as a class Z high-rise building.
However, the building is not considered as a high-rise building in the following cases, which are deemed to give it the independence required by article R. 122-2 of the French Construction and Housing Code:
the premises are used for a professional activity and are part of the same group of rooms as those used for family life;

the premises are used for professional office activities, or constitute an ERP belonging to the same natural or legal person, and simultaneously...
