Electro-oxidation is the application of an electric field in the soil (water-unsaturated part), with the aim of oxidizing pollutants (figure 13 ). This recent technique has been pilot-tested on site and is now starting to be marketed.

Principle
Soil is made up of water, organic matter, clays, metals and natural salts. These compounds are often polar or charged. There are therefore electrical interactions at the various points where these elements come into contact.
