7. Other equipment
Particular mention should be made of transition slabs. Their purpose is to avoid the difference in level that may occur between the roadway and the bridge in the event of embankment settlement. These are reinforced concrete slabs, with one end resting on the structure and the other on the access embankment.
The equipment also includes central grids covering the gap between two parallel, separate structures.
When necessary, bridges can be lit in different ways. The best system seems to be lighting by candelabras, preferably placed outside or in the plane of the guardrail, and fitted with brackets to raise the focus of the light above the roadway.
