1. Heating networks

1.1 Networks

Heat networks (and also district heating networks) are the distribution of energy in a form directly usable by the user, without any transformation of its nature, as opposed to the primary energy of a fuel.

Distribution takes place between the heat source and the users via a heating fluid: hot water, superheated water, steam or thermal fluid.

The heat thus distributed is used for a variety of purposes:

  • heating of residential or industrial premises, with or without air conditioning;

  • domestic water heating ;

  • various heaters for industrial production.
