3. Isolated storage

3.1 Residential site

Storage, usually in the form of a lead or lithium battery, is located between the renewable energy generator (wind or solar) and the load.

Today's inverters and converters are highly efficient, and direct current distribution is no longer practiced. This means that standard 230 V equipment can be used on alternating current (V ac ).

In a small off-grid installation, the battery provides a guarantee of supply (particularly in the event of failure of the renewable energy generator) and compensates for variations in the renewable resource (wind or sun).
