2. A few definitions

2.1 Rational use of energy

Programs at national and European level, bringing together all energy-saving actions relating to energy use, and the incentives for carrying them out. These programs do not include the choice of energy sources, such as renewable energies, but can include energy savings related to energy production, transformation and distribution to the end customer. The aim is to encourage consumers to optimize their use of energy in the way best suited to achieving economic objectives, taking into account technical, social, political, financial and environmental constraints.
