Several companies offer systems dedicated to nanoimprinting. For research, the simplest option for thermal nanoimprinting is to work with a "pocket" press consisting of two jaws and a screw used to apply pressure. The press is heated by an adjustable-temperature heating plate. This type of press is suitable for small molds (< 1 cm 2 ).

The Specac commercial hydraulic press, equipped with a pair of 4-inch-diameter heating platens and a temperature controller for temperatures up to 300°C, is ready for immediate use for thermal nanoimprinting and nanoforming by pressing or compression.
