4. Preparing the edges to be welded

Welding edge preparations depend mainly on the thickness of the sheets to be joined and the welding positions. For most arc welding processes, these edge preparations are governed by the standard NF EN ISO 9692-1 . Welding sheet metal with a thickness of less than 1 mm is very delicate, if not impossible.
