2. From design to manufacture

Unlike microelectronics, there is as yet no library of standard designs to assemble for the various functions involved in building a microsystem. And yet, these objects are often complex, requiring multi-disciplinary skills depending on the application.

We'll look at the main stages involved in designing a microsystem, and then describe a modeling and simulation methodology. Before that, we'll say a few words about what differentiates the design of a microsystem from that of a conventional system.
