4. Selection criteria

The coupling can be chosen from a wide range of industrial products, some examples of which are given in this article.

In order to ensure trouble-free operation, the following elements need to be assessed in succession: torsional rigidity, transmissible torque, ability to withstand misalignment and rotational speed.

4.1 Torsional rigidity

The choice of this parameter ensures that the operating range (speed of rotation of the coupled shafts) is optimally matched to the critical torsional speed zones of the shaft line.
