2.1 Coupling

Couplings are generally made up of three functional parts, plus a protective housing if required (figure 9 ).

The flanges (or sleeves) 1 and 2 (figure 9 ) transform a relative angular position error into a displacement (by moving active zones away from the axis of rotation); they are completely connected to the shafts (no relative movement possible).
