7.1 Manufacture of metal springs
The manufacture of metal springs generally involves shaping metal bars or wires and providing them with the desired mechanical properties through heat and mechanical treatments. There are two processes for forming metal springs: cold forming and hot forming.
It should be noted that metal 3D printing is gradually developing and is used, for example, to test the geometries of titanium springs. .
