9. Conclusion
Elastic connections using mechanical springs offer vast potential in terms of shapes and materials for storing and restoring energy in mechanical systems. Because of their ease of manufacture, low cost and low environmental impact, the most widely used springs are steel, leaf or helical springs, obtained by plastic deformation of strips or wires.
