2. Mechatronics
The term "mechatronics" was first used in 1969 by Mr. Tetsuro Mori, who at the time was a senior executive with the Japanese company Yaskawa Electric Corporation, a manufacturer of automation components and systems. The term comes from the combination of "mecha" for mechanism and "tronics" for electronics. The 1990s saw a boom in the use of this term, with different definitions and major evolutions in its meaning and field of application. In addition to the original definition, the literature is full of other definitions
