6. Conclusion and outlook

The ad hoc group's report, drawn up mainly by the French delegation, was unanimously endorsed by TC 184 in February 2012. The TC subsequently entrusted France with the task of proposing and leading the implementation of this roadmap. This confirms France's leadership as the first country to have developed a field of standards to serve industry in this field. On the strength of this mandate, and aware of the need for a progressive appropriation of the subject by all delegations, France proposed in April 2012 to start work by drawing up a standard on terminology, the first need identified in the ISO report.
