4. Impacts and benefits of mechatronics standardization for manufacturers
The launch of any new standards work must be justified in terms of its interest and added value for stakeholders in the field. France had already taken this on board in 2007, and this was also one of the demands made of the international ad hoc group.
As we have already seen from a few examples, like the "2015 Key Technologies" for mechanical engineering, mechatronics is cited as such or under similar names in various roadmaps as a key success factor or source of opportunities, either in a general way or associated with a particular sector (transport, robotics, manufacturing...). These include documents produced by the FIEEC (Fédération des industries électriques, électroniques et de communication)
