1. Definitions

What does the term "maintenance" cover, and what parameters have been chosen to optimize its management?

1.1 Maintenance

Maintenance is defined in the NF EN 13306 as "all the technical, administrative and management actions, during the life cycle of an asset, designed to maintain or restore it to a state in which it can perform a required function".

This definition calls for a number of comments.

  • By "all actions", she makes it clear that maintenance is not limited to servicing operations alone, but must also encompass all operating and monitoring operations during operation....
