1. Why test benches and what kind of benches?

A test bench is a set of equipment installed in a generally soundproofed and ventilated room, and used to reproduce the operation of a component, an internal combustion engine, a powertrain (GMP) or a complete vehicle during its actual use. The test bench can therefore be very simple in the case of elementary engine function tests, or very complex in the case of simulation of real GMP or complete vehicle operation .
