1. Context

The use of microfluidics has recently been validated in high-throughput screening and diagnostic tests. In particular, droplet microfluidics, which uses nanoliter (nL) to picoliter (pL) droplets as reaction compartments for biological reactions, has demonstrated its relevance in many fields of application.

For example, the compatibility of the materials used with the incubation of living biological material has enabled cytotoxicity tests to be adapted to the microfluidic format, for the screening of antibiotics on bacteria or drugs on eukaryotic cells
