1.1 RRP packaging

Ready-to-sell packaging (RTP or "ready to sell") historically refers to the Anglo-Saxon retail vision ("retail ready packaging") and, more precisely, to the perimeter of the point of sale, from the stockroom to the shelf ("shelf ready packaging") with a view to consumer purchase.

This definition concerns consumer sales unit packaging, intended to supply the shelf or department, which is easy to identify in the store's stockroom, easy to handle, easy to open, easy for the consumer to find and buy, and easy for the point of sale to dispose of and recycle once it has become waste.
