2. Implement an eco-design approach

Ecodesign involves improving the environmental performance of packaging right from the design stage and throughout its life cycle. A company committed to this approach therefore needs to master both knowledge of design and the various stages in a packaging's life cycle, as well as ecodesign techniques and tools.

  • Mastering design

    This means knowing the different materials available for packaging, in terms of the functions required to protect the product, as well as the manufacturing and packaging processes. This knowledge will define the scope of ecodesign actions.
