Life cycle; Cycle de vie

Consecutive and linked phases of a product system, from the acquisition of raw materials or the generation of natural resources to final disposal. (ISO 14040 standard; 2006)

Packaging; Packaging

Any product made up of materials of any kind, intended to contain and protect specific goods, from raw materials to finished products, to enable their handling and transport from producer to consumer or user, and to ensure their presentation. All disposables used for the same purpose are to be considered as packaging. (Extract from Directive 94/62/EC on packaging and packaging waste).

Biosourced product; Bio-based product

Product entirely or partially derived from biomass (Standard NF EN 16575: 2014).
