4. Conclusion
Recycled and biosourced plastics are already used in a wide variety of plastic packaging: bottles, trays, tubes, films, bags... They have been growing for several years, and are emerging as a complementary source of supply to virgin fossil-based plastics, which remain the primary source of supply for packaging manufacturers. The various studies available all point to a rise in the use of these materials in packaging over the next few years, the pace of which will be determined by stakeholders' ability to remove the technical and organizational obstacles to their development.
