1. Virtual reality as an aid to design and evaluation in industry
The creative design of a product, organization or process is often accompanied by the need for a virtual representation, either passive or interactive, enabling designers and their customers to evaluate the validity of design choices through simulation. On the other hand, the actual design phase is currently rarely carried out in situ in an interactive virtual environment. It is, and always will be, easier to use standard computer-aided design (CAD) software, which has proven its efficiency. Every designer prefers to work seated in front of a computer screen, rather than standing and immersed in the product to be designed. Virtual reality is therefore more interesting and effective for design evaluation than for intrinsic design tasks.
