7. Application

7.1 Method

RFID middleware is an essential building block for the effective use of new technologies within a company. Whether you decide to develop it in-house or choose one of the solutions available on the market (see point 5), a sound methodology is essential. On the technical side, RFID needs to be properly assessed to define an appropriate solution, and on the financial side, budgets need to be drawn up correctly to determine the projected return on investment. The method described here is not linked to a product on the market, and is designed to help companies implement an RFID solution within their information system. It corresponds to a generic architecture diagram that defines RFID technology as the main axis, but also supports other AIDC digital technologies.
