2. The role of a traceability system master plan

The master plan for a traceability system is a summary document that :

  • presents a diagnosis of the current state of traceability;

  • sets the policy and objectives the company expects from traceability over a medium-term period;

  • describes the resources in terms of skills and tools for implementation ;

  • sets the framework for controls and audits of the traceability system.
