4. Steps for establishing a traceability master plan

We're now going to outline the steps involved in drawing up a master plan to define the traceability system, its organization and its implementation, particularly in an IT system, be it ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), CAPM (Computer-Aided Production Management), MES (Manufacturing Execution System) or specific industrial management software.

This master plan will subsequently lead to the drawing up of specifications for suppliers of traceability technologies and integrators (optical reader, RFID, interoperability between databases, query language, Web-EDI data exchange, CAPM, MES, ERP, etc.).
