6.1 Selection criteria
The choice of the optimum treatment depends, in decreasing order of importance, on :
the history of operating incidents in the steam production unit;
feed water quality: softened or osmosis water;
food water temperature ;
the use, food or other, of the steam produced;
existing equipment ;
condensate return rate and quality: air intake, if any?
the concentration of carbon dioxide in the steam.
