4. Examples of systems and operating recommendations

Initially, we have chosen to present two rustic systems that are widely used in France, and whose design has little impact on the environment. These excreta source separation systems can be self-built, manufactured or constructed by one or more building tradesmen in compliance with current professional regulations. In a second step (§ 4.3 ), a urine collection system in a building is described, as this type of project is becoming increasingly common.

In an ANC context, these systems cannot do without a complementary system to treat household wastewater, which is directed to the sewer in AC....
