Accident majeur; Major accident
It is defined by the decree of May 26, 2014 in this way "an event such as a major emission, fire or explosion resulting from uncontrolled developments occurring during operation, entailing, either for the convenience of the neighborhood, or for health, for safety, for public health, or for agriculture, or for the protection of nature, the environment and landscapes, or for the rational use of energy, or for the conservation of sites and monuments and elements of the archaeological heritage, with serious consequences, immediate or deferred, and involving one or more dangerous substances or mixtures".
