4. Conclusion

In all sectors of the economy, from production to service activities, standardization has become an indispensable tool for exchange and development. Every field, in every sector of economic activity, calls for new rules of the game, new definitions, new processes, new standards.

By laying down clear, universal rules, the standard provides answers, in a reference document, to the many technical and commercial questions repeatedly asked by several partners concerning products, capital goods or services. As already mentioned, the standard is the fruit of a consensus that brings together all the players in a market: manufacturers, laboratories, public authorities, consumers, etc.
