3. Health and safety committee and classified facilities
3.1 Health, safety and working conditions committee
The CHSCT is a consultative body responsible for health and safety at work. It is chaired by the employer (or his representative) and made up of elected staff members. Its membership varies according to the size of the establishment. Set up in 1947, it is compulsory for all companies with more than 50 employees to set up an occupational health and safety committee.
Please note that :
on the one hand, in establishments where there is no CHSCT, labor regulations stipulate that employee delegates exercise the functions normally assigned to the committee;
on the other hand, in establishments with fewer than 50 employees, the Labour...
