Déchet; waste

Any residue from a production, transformation or use process, any substance, material or product intended for abandonment (filters, additives, etc.).

By-product; byproduct

Unintentional and unavoidable residual material resulting from the manufacture of a product (sorting deviation, non-conforming packaged product).

Co-product; coproduct

Commercial material intentionally and inevitably created in the same process and at the same time as a main product (beet pulp, sweetcorn cob).
