4. Choice of adjuvant (case of kieselguhr)

The adjuvant is essential in alluvial filtration, as it is the main element responsible for filtration.

Finding the ideal filter aid is very difficult. Some choices prove impossible.

Depending on the desired filtration quality, the most suitable additives must be selected, taking into account the following parameters:

  • have as few different additives as possible (3 to 4 max);

  • cover the entire range of products to be filtered with the chosen additives;

  • find simple formulations to avoid errors ;

  • Choose your additives according to the type of filter you have, its capacity, and the quality of the work you want to achieve;

  • reduce additive consumption.
