7. Future food products

With the development of scientific knowledge and technological progress, the agri-food sector has built up a constantly evolving industrial sector that is a major source of innovation and new products. What's more, in high-income countries, consumers' food requirements (summed up by the formula Q=4S which stands for Quality implies Health, Safety, Satisfaction and Service) and their desire for information, must now be taken into account. In conclusion, a general outline of the development of new food products (figure 9 ) provides a glimpse of certain future prospects in the field of human nutrition.
