4. Packaging glass manufacturing

The industrial manufacture of container glass belongs to the hollow glass sector, which also includes glass packaging used in the cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries, as well as household crockery comprising glasses, cups, plates, salad bowls, dishes, etc.

It runs continuously, 7 days a week, in three shifts, to optimize productivity and, consequently, production costs.

The steps are shown in figure 5 . They boil down to the preparation of a mixture of components, which is then melted and shaped.
