4.1 Key features
Beers are the result of a combination of water, cereals, yeast, hops and the application of unit operations, the parameterization of which leads to a multitude of finished products that differ in taste, texture, appearance... Figure 7 shows an example of a recipe for lager beer. In this universe of products, reference is often made to major technological families such as Lager, IPA, Ale... or to the color of the finished product.

The legal names of brewing products are not harmonized at Community level. In France, these names are defined in Decree no. 92-307 of March 31, 1992, amended by Decree no. 2016-1531 of November 15, 2016 on the composition and labeling of brewing products, in force since 2017.
