1. Metrology of measurement and test protocols
Following on from the introduction, let's go into more detail about the content of this first paragraph. We'll start by defining what constitutes a device undergoing an emission test or an immunity test. Particular attention will be paid to the role assigned to the device's links with potential references usually referred to as "earth", "ground" or other equivalents. The question of the intended purpose of the measurements or tests will precede the analysis of the various physical variables envisaged to achieve results that are as reproducible as possible.
This first paragraph will then turn to the descriptions of an emission measurement or immunity test. The text will confine itself to the substantive aspects of measurement or test protocols, the details of which obviously abound in official standards documents.
