2. Post-processing of vibration data and use of results
2.1 General principles
Vibration signal post-processing techniques are often based on mathematical methods applicable to signal processing: Fourier transforms, Laplace transforms, transfer functions, and so on. As a result, the measurement industry has invested heavily in the development of equipment that can be used for a wide range of needs, and in software adapted to maintenance, operation, study or even advanced research.
One effect of this growth in signal processing is also reflected in the market by the existence of companies whose purpose is to provide services with appropriate hardware and software, or simply hire out resources for one-off expert assessments.
