In this final section, we present an advanced application of the NV scanning magnetometer, gradiometry , which allows us to gain about an order of magnitude in magnetic sensitivity. This approach is particularly interesting for the study of antiferromagnetic materials, which can produce fields too weak to be detected by standard ODMR measurements.
