Field of view

Total surface area that can be seen through the lens and imaged on the camera sensor.

Working distance

Distance between object and lens when image is sharpest.

Quenching

All the phenomena that contribute to reducing the fluorescence intensity of a given substance.

Magnification

Ratio of sensor size to field of view size.

Photobleaching

Irreversible loss of fluorescence of a molecule.

Depth of field

Distance range within which the object appears to be in acceptable focus.

Resolution
