4. GCxGC or two-dimensional integral gas chromatography
4.1 Principle
GCxGC (comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography) is an analytical technique that emerged in the early 1990s . The special feature of this technique is that volatile compounds are separated by two capillary columns, placed one after the other in the oven(s) of a chromatography unit, and coupled by a modulation system.
