3. Application to speciation analysis

HPLC-ICP-MS coupling is particularly well suited to speciation analyses of trace elements, some of which are known to have toxic and/or beneficial effects. Today, many elements present in various environmental or biological matrices are concerned by these analyses. Levels of the order of ng · L –1 in water and a few tens of μg · kg –1 in solid matrices are reached. This makes them the tool of choice for environmental, health, agri-food and legislative issues.
