4. Conclusion
Validation of a measurement method is based on an in-laboratory study of quantified or verified characteristics (see table 8 ). They are used to demonstrate the laboratory's competence, and form the basis of a method validation file as part of a quality approach. But beyond this first use, this quantified information is also used to evaluate measurement uncertainty or other parameters that summarize the accuracy of a measurement.
